Let’s work together to support Montreal families
It’s amazing that life is slowly returning back to normal. You can almost feel the joy in the air with summer in Montreal fast approaching. People will finally be able to see their friends and family again. Most of us are in the fortunate situation of being able to go back to worrying about more mundane things. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case for everyone. Montreal is an amazing cosmopolitan city yet has a dubious distinction. It ranks last when it comes to those who live below the poverty line in North America.
Two worlds
The technology sector in Montreal is well on its way to making its presence felt on the global stage. More & more companies are being formed and Montreal is not far behind Toronto in terms of venture capital investments. There is an amazing acceleration of the ecosystem that has taken 15 years to build. The MTL tech ecosystem is about to have its moment in the sun. Yet, we shouldn’t forget about the community we live in.
There is something we can do
The Montreal technology ecosystem wasn’t built by a single person or organization. It took a community of people, entrepreneurs, investors and mentors to come together and work for the greater good. It’s now time to give back to the greater community. We’ve proven that we can make a difference if we work together. For that reason, a small but committed group of individuals started TechAide as a means of giving back. Its mission is to inspire the Montreal tech ecosystem to get together to give back to our local community. We’ve benefited enormously from being part of a community, now it’s time to give back. I hope that you’ll join us, help us eradicate poverty and make the city a better place.
